Michael P. McMillan is the President & CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, leading the nation’s largest Urban League affiliate. Since 2013, he has expanded the organization’s budget from $15M to over $50M, grown its locations from 8 to 25, and built a network of 60+ programs serving more than 200,000 people annually. Under his leadership, ULSTL has launched major projects including a $10M Senior Living Building in Dellwood, a $25M headquarters donation from Centene, and the new Urban League Plaza. He also guided the historic merger with Grace Hill Settlement House and completed the $40M redevelopment of the Victor Roberts Building into ULSTL’s Regional Headquarters. McMillan’s leadership has been especially impactful during crises—organizing Missouri’s largest COVID-19 relief effort and creating the Save Our Sons program after Ferguson, which has helped over 3,000 Black men gain employment. A lifelong public servant, McMillan was the youngest person ever elected to the St. Louis Board of Aldermen and later served as the city’s License Collector. He has earned numerous national honors and serves on several major civic and corporate boards. A graduate of Saint Louis University, he continues to drive transformative change across the St. Louis region.
